Rueben Sliders

Rueben Sliders

2 mini loaves of Rye bread
saurkraut
2 cans spam sliced
8 oz block of mozzerella cheese cut in slices
thousand island dressing

Rye Bread

2 1/2 cups Rye flour
2 pkts yeast
1 tablespoon honey
1 cup warm water

Dissolve yeast with honey and warm water, add flour and mix well. Turn out onto floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes.
Divide dough into 2 balls and roll out into shape of 2 loaves.
Place in 2 greased bread pans, turning once to coat loaves.

Let rest covered about 1 hour  in warm area such as the top of a stove where the oven is turned on to warm top of stove( really does not rise as this is a much denser loaf than white bread)

Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes.

While bread is in oven heat saurkraut in pan on stove.

Take spam slices and fry in electric skillet browning one side. When you flip it over to brown other side, place 1 1/2 slices of cheese on top.

Slice bread into sandwhich width slices and assemble by placing a spam slice on a slice of bread, top with saurkraut and add some thousand island dressing topping with another slice of rye bread.
