Fishing and Flying Kites

This past week has been a lot of fun in some really decent weather, a great time to be outside with some frugal leisure family fun!

We are about a mile from a good fishing river so of course with a nice sunny day and hubby having the day off we all headed down and spent the afternoon fishing! This always proves to be fun for the whole family and is an activity that we all enjoy tremendously although we did not catch anything!

The kids had a few sneakily little minnows that kept stealing their bait, enough to make it interesting but no fish otherwise and nothing big enough to actually hook! Evil fish that they were!

The next few days proved to be quite windy and our daughter noticed the neighbors flying kites which triggered her memory that grandma had brought a kite for them her last visit. She broke out the kite and she and Daddy had some fun flying it.

I am hoping to add Horse Shoes and Badminton soon to the list of outside activities as we really like to get outside on nice days when we can. My son has to have what he deems as a good reason to get outside so I have to be a little creative in coming up with activities he enjoys such as fishing! I think he really may like horse shoes too and of course we just can not wait for Camping Season to begin!

This really has been a wonderful week of being outdoors and enjoying some great togetherness time as a family............and then today SNOW! Not enough to stick but brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr !!!!!
