Cheesy Chicken and Rice Casserole



Cheesy Chicken and Rice Casserole


2 or 3 boneless skinless chicken breasts
3 cups water
1 1/2 cups long grain rice
1 cup broccoli pieces
1 tablespoon dried onion flakes
1/2 tsp. garlic salt
1/2 tsp. everyday seasoning (pepper, cumin etc mix)
6 slices of american cheese slices or 4 oz shredded cheddar cheese


Boil chicken breasts in water in pan for about 45 minutes and then cut into 1 inch pieces.
Butter bottom and sides of 13 x 9 pan and preheat oven to 400
degrees.

In large 2 quart pan add 3 cups water then add everything but rice and cheese.

when water starts to boil add rice, cover and turn heat down to medium simmering about 15 minutes.

Pour mixture into buttered pan , place shredded cheese or cheese slices on top and place in oven uncovered.

Bake 10 to 15 minutes- until cheese is melted and serve.
