Blessings From Readers

I have truly been overwhelmed by the love and support I have been getting online from readers, it really has been a blessing this month.

I am so grateful for the generosity of a reader that has mailed us the check to cover our propane heat with so much we are dealing with now, she felt we should not have to worry about heat too. It was a huge surprise and a weight lifted off our shoulders, especially since the weather has turned cold again. I can not tell her in words how grateful I am for her act of kindness in our moment of need right now.

Yesterday we received the worst case scenario on my health after my lab work for pre-op was done and I went right to the emergency room. Pretty grim news but I am not giving up and will fight to be in the 1% to survive. At this point I am not expected to survive even a year and was given the option of chemo or hospice. I will post the details over at my whole-istic living blog as soon as I am up to it.

Other readers have been emailing me and sending wonderful positive thoughts our way or leaving loving supporting comments. E-cards have been coming in and just wonderful, wonderful thoughts and I can feel the love and support surrounding us. I feel bad I do not always respond back but seriously I am just not up to it most days now and even trying to post anything at all has become difficult at best.

But I do read everything and am very grateful for such loving and kind readers, ones that I feel I have become friends with as well as the newer ones I do not know. It means the world to us and is so appreciated in every way.

I love you all and appreciate all your positive thoughts, prayers and kindness you are bestowing upon our family.

  2. Carrie,

This is overwhelming right now. Give yourself a little time to recover from the shock and plenty of time for tears.

I want to encourage you by sharing my husband's story. In June of 2000, he was diagnosed with a terminal illness and wasn't expected to live. Well, he is still here, stable and still confounding the doctors :) In 2008 he was in the hospital, the doctors were talking to me about comfort care, as he wasn't expected to live more than a few days. That will be 5 years in June!

I am glad to know you're a fighter. Stay positive, reach out to others, and know we are all praying for you. May God grant you and your family peace and strength through this trying time. "Cast your cares upon Him, for He careth for you"

  3. Carrie, is there a way to send or deliver care packages to your family? Is there a local business in your area that might be willing to accept donations/mail/packages for you?

I would love to send a package to you, but I'm not sure where to send it!

    Many well wishes,

    A fellow "mitten" resident
